User Experience Design
It's always critical to look at the whole context of an interaction, from what brought the user to this place, to where they want to go once they are finished. Creating that complete experience is central to my work as a User Experience Architect.
I envision and design the experience for the user or customer from start to finish of an interaction with a product or service. Design is an iterative process, so experiences may originate in paper and pencil sketches and evolve into wireframes or low fidelity prototypes before evolving into finished designs.
This work incorporates:
- User Interface Design
- Task Analysis
- User Research Methods
- Visual Design
to create:
- Wireframes
- Interactive Prototypes
- Process Graphics and Visual Comps
- Design Style Guides
Usability Engineering
The interface is always communicating something to the user—if you don't put it in front of real users and see how they respond or have a trained eye look at it, you risk miscommunication with your clients.
I design and moderate usability studies and conduct usability expert reviews to evaluate design artifacts. With experience in scientific research methodology and statistical analysis, I can apply various levels of rigor to projects as needed.
This work incorporates:
- Usability Testing - design, facilitation, analysis, reporting
- Expert Review
- Statistical Analysis
to create:
- Usability Study Reports and Presentations
- Expert Usability Reviews
- Design Recommendations
